permanent museum Fondazione Querini Stampalia was born by the
artistic passion of the aristocratic venetian family named
Querini, that bought and placed an order for all the works exposed
inside. It'a an occasion to admire paintings by Bellini, Pietro
Longhi, Gabriel Bella and many more. Don't forget to take a look
at the period furniture, it's pure venetian style of Serenissima
Republic.

Peggy Guggenheim, a
considerably more discerning patron of the arts, moved into the
palace in 1949; since her death in 1979 the Foundation has turned
her private collection into one of the city's glossiest museums
and the second most popular after the Accademia.
It hosts paintings by Picasso, Kandinskij and Pollock.

CINI FOUNDATION

Giorgio Maggiore -
Venice
By the mid-nineteenth century the monastery had been converted
into workshops and offices for the Australian artillery. In 1951,
it was acquired by Count Vittorio Cini and converted into the home
of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, an organization that now runs an
arts research institute, a naval college and a craft school on the
island.
